Airport Design Services

Tonkin has a long, successful history in aerodrome design and construction, dating back to the original Kangaroo Island Airport upgrade in 1984.

Our expertise stretches throughout the life cycle of aviation facilities and includes technical feasibility of new facilities, engineering design of airside and landside facilities, construction stage services and asset
management services for existing facilities.

Our team is fully across Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s (CASA) Manual of Standards 139 (MOS139) and Tonkin undertake all our airside designs with reference to these requirements.

The design of aerodromes and aerodrome upgrades often require a multidisciplinary team. We have successfully undertaken complete airside aerodrome designs and upgrades.

In addition, Tonkin has also performed the role of Airport Building Controller for Adelaide and Parafield Airports since the inception of that role in 1999.
