Senior Mechanical Engineer
An opportunity exists for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer who has significant experience and success in designing, reviewing and providing technical oversight of water and wastewater projects.
We currently have a team of 4 mechanical engineers. Our Principal Engineer possesses high level technical skills in the fluid and more recently water area. We are seeking an individual who can provide support to the Principal Engineer by assisting with:
- the review and checking of the work of the other engineers
- providing training, guidance and mentoring on technical aspects of water/fluid engineering
To be successful in this role, it is crucial for you to be a highly adaptable professional with proven success in transforming client needs into outstanding solutions. You will enjoy the challenge and have demonstrated success coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers, while maintaining a clear focus on the delivery of quality outcomes by raising skill sets of others. The ability and passion to work as an active and positive team member is a vital. You will have a “hands on” technical strength in your field and relish the challenges of working directly with clients, preparing proposals and delivering excellence in design.
Ideally you will have at least 10 years experience in a technical environment, preferably in water and wastewater treatment, with a solid “hands on” approach to design principals and innovations in design. You will possess commercial acumen, with a strong results orientation and demonstrated success consistently delivering the best outcomes that meet and achieves client requirements and time frames.
Senior Electrical Engineer
The requirement for Electrical/instrument work is increasing within the projects Tonkin Consulting is currently pursuing and undertaking. Presently, we have a contracted Electrical Engineer who at times is overburdened with work and limited capacity to complete any additional work. For this reason we have an opportunity for an Electrical/Instrument Engineer to join our company in this newly created permanent role.
Ideally you will possess 10 years experience in a technical environment, preferably in infrastructure related projects. You will encompass a range of skills across electrical/instrument engineering to carry out smaller projects, define and interpret the requirements of larger projects. Flexible in attitude you develop appropriate approaches to complete components requested in tendered work, whether they are in-house or outsourced. It is expected that you would have experience in preparing proposals for clients and a scope of works for sub-consultants to provide the client’s ultimate electrical/instrumental needs as part of broader projects.
You are considered and recognised as being a “hands on” technical expert in electrical or instrumentation, and will relish the challenges of working directly with clients and preparing proposals. You will have proven ability to identify and analyse relevant information, applying your extensive knowledge to delivering excellence in design principles, innovation and creating solutions to problems. You will utilise your technical skills and knowledge in a “hands on” capacity and have the ability to manage sub contractors and their scope of work, as well as delivering projects on time and within budget.
